State Government & Public Service Panel
October 28, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Collectively, the state and territory governments have the largest workforces in Australia. Moreover, they deliver to the community most of the critical services our society relies upon.
Agencies and departments in all states have endeavoured to execute LGBTQ inclusion strategies to attract and retain the very best in the public service. Some of the work has been ‘whole of government’ while others have been organisational specific.
To assist our public service in connecting and learning, we have brought together some of the best practitioners and advocates for workplace inclusion from across the country to share their experience and learnings.
The State of Inclusion webinar will include experienced panellists covering such topics as building a holistic, measured approach; building a government wide employee network; the role of an executive champion; ensuring inclusion reaches regional and remote public servants and also the key topic of intersectionality, especially with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. This substantive panel is not to be missed, and is open to all, irrespective of PiD membership.
Panellists include:
- Galina Talbot – NSW Police Force
- Bob Smith – QLD Department of Education
- Zoe Kennedy – NSW Public Service Commission
- Elena Callipari – VIC Department of Health & Human Services
- Janita Valentine – QLD Department of Education
Wednesday 28th October, 3pm – 4:30pm (AEDST) via WebEx
